Kinship Family Enrichment Program

When family steps in to care for kids in need, SCC springs into action.

“Kinship Care” families are all around us- in our schools, our neighborhoods and places of worship. Kinship care, or family caring for family, is a out-of-home placement for children in need of safe place. Rather than go to a foster or group home, children in need are placed with an aunt, uncle, grandparent, or family friend. These caregivers step into children’s lives to help provide stability, safety, and security.

Enrichment Matters Scholarship Fund

Kids thrive when they have the opportunity to do something they love.

Many kinship caregivers willingly open up their homes to the kids in their life who need a safe place to land, even if it stretches the finances. Our fund provides scholarships to kinship youth to participate in extracurricular activities, such as athletics or the arts.  Research proves that additional activities ouside of school hours can improve a student’s grades, decrease behavioral problems, and positively impact their identity. In our opinion, enrichment matters.

Community Training

SCC offers free training that benefit community members in various facets of life. We seek to partner with organizations to offer impactful and needed trainings.
